COVID-19 ADJUSTMENTS
As parents, Hub and Kate know first hand the struggles and challenges these times have brought to families. Your health and safety is extremely important to us, and we hope you’ll come join us outside this fall, romping, playing and having fun together once again, with the reassurance that we are doing everything we can to keep you safe. Our plan is based off of the Forward Virginia Phase Three Guidelines as outlined here: Forward VA: Phase Three (specifically page 30-32: Entertainment and Public Amusement). Here’s a glance at some of our policies to give you the peace of mind that your family is safe with us:
- The maze & festival is a 100% outside, open air event. Transmission of the virus is far less common outside as compared to inside. “With fresh air and more space between people, the risk goes down…Pandemic life is safer outdoors, in part, because even a light wind will quickly dilute the virus.” (https://www.nytimes.com/2020/05/15/us/coronavirus-what-to-do-outside.html)
- All staff are required to wear masks while interacting with customers in the store, ticketbooth, courtyard, maze & food booths. We are encouraging all guests to do the same. Masks greatly reduce the risk of spreading the virus. (Here’s the Science Behind How Face Masks Prevent Coronavirus)
- Reminders will be posted around the courtyard and maze, encouraging people to stay home if they think they might have any symptoms of the coronavirus, and to keep their distance between groups.
- Hand sanitizer and hand washing stations will be made readily available around the courtyard and maze. We will regularly be sanitizing hard surfaces (slides, port-o-potties, tables, ticketbooth, etc.)
We truly believe that our fall festival & corn maze is the perfect, safe activity for families this fall. With plenty of space to spread out and being a 100% open air event, Blue Ridge Mountain Maze is the perfect remedy for you and your family after months of being “corn-teened!” Come see for yourself!!
